History
Originally conceived in 1968 by members of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce “to conduct projects, programs and studies deemed to be in the interest of providing the best possible urban environment for all citizens,” the South Florida Progress Foundation evolved to be proactive in addressing issues considered paramount to the area’s progress and performance as the largest Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) in the nation’s third largest state.
In pursuit of that mission, it seeks also to build Greater Miami’s reputation as a gateway for international trade and commerce.
